Our Services

Acupuncture

When Qi, the flow of vital energy, becomes blocked or imbalanced, it can lead to illness or pain. Through the insertion of needles at specific points along the meridians, acupuncture aims to restore the proper flow of Qi, thereby promoting healing and optimizing self-regulation as a whole person. Evidence-based research has demonstrated positive efficacy in various areas, including the digestive system, cardiovascular system, endocrine and immune systems, pain management, emotional and mental health, and reproductive health. Non-needle modalities include cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, and Zero Balancing.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

While modern pharmaceuticals often focus on masking symptoms, herbal medicine takes a different approach by addressing the underlying causes of disease and promoting healing from the inside out. Chinese herbal medicine harnesses the healing properties of various herbs, plants, and natural substances. A personalized herbal formula is carefully crafted for each client based on their unique presentation of disharmony.

The synergistic nature of herbs fosters natural healing, balance, and restoration within the body, simultaneously alleviating symptoms and addressing root causes. Herbal medicine is commonly administered as granules that are mixed in warm water and consumed daily.

Soliman’s Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT)

SAAT is a minimally invasive, drug-free approach that provides long relief from allergy symptoms. By stimulating certain points on the ear corresponding to the body's organs and systems, the treatment can help rebalance the body's energy flow and alleviate allergic responses.

Meet Your Practitioner

Dr. Jeanie Free, DAc, LAc.

Dr. Jeanie Free completed her Master's and Doctor of Acupuncture programs at the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH). She is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Maryland and Pennsylvania. She is currently studying Chinese herbal medicine with Dr. Heiner Fruehauf and is in the process of becoming nationally board-certified through NCCAOM.

Prior to her career as an acupuncturist, Jeanie received her undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park. She held positions as a Financial Analyst in a government agency and a publicly traded engineering corporation. Jeanie has a passion for helping others overcome language barriers. She had an opportunity utilized her bilingual skills to serve patients as an interpreter in hospitals and health centers. In this role, she discovered her passion for patient care but also became aware of the inadequacies of the Western healthcare system, which fueled her desire to seek holistic health solutions for herself and others. This desire for holistic healing deepened further after becoming a mother.

Throughout her acupuncture schooling, Jeanie deeply resonated with the ancient wisdom of Chinese medicine and its integrative approach to modern practice. Having grown up in Hong Kong, where her grandfather frequently practiced the philosophy of "Food is Medicine," Jeanie learned to eat seasonally and witnessed ailments being treated by Traditional Chinese Medicine doctors. She also acknowledges the energetic shifts that affect health during different seasons and weather.

Jeanie is committed to walking alongside her patients, providing high-quality, personalized care with utmost authenticity and compassion.

When Jeanie isn't tending to patients at the clinic, delving into her studies, refining her skills, or exploring new techniques (she admits, she's a bit of a nerd!), she cherishes moments with her daughter and fur baby (cat). She combines her culinary expertise with nourishing meals, using it as an opportunity to instill in her daughter the importance of self-care through food.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Jeanie finds joy in hiking, photography, experimenting with essential oils, honing her skills in Chinese calligraphy, delving into the intricacies of Feng Shui/Bazi, and passing on her knowledge of Cantonese.
